About My Work

Within a fiber art composition, each piece of fabric is affected by the colors or textures placed around it. This intrigues me, and I enjoy manipulating these variables as the composition evolves. Lines, color and asymmetric balance are a focus of most of my work, and the path of the visible thread from the quilting adds another layer of texture or meaning.
My work is often inspired by an aspect of nature or a specific geographical area. I have lived most of my life in the Napa and Sacramento Valleys; the landscapes of Northern California are deeply rooted in my creative life. I prefer to work abstractly, giving the viewer freedom to connect with each piece in a way that is unique and personal.
Designing and creating are joyful endeavors for me. I work primarily from my studio in Colusa, a lovely little rural area in Northern California.
